I just wanted to shout out the Sightless Scribbles blog post,
“On Access Trauma”. I think it offers a good glimpse into
everyday things people with different abilities have to deal with. For instance, I had no idea that PDFs are often
inaccessible.

It also introduced me to the idea of Interdependance Care.
I thought this part was insightful:

“…through our valourising of independence, we have in many ways invisibilised the very nature of interdependence that drives our lives. The growing of vegetables and fruits by farmers - that we buy and consume. The assistance needed in producing a computer - that I use to write this column. Somehow these forms of dependence on others was valid because we all needed it. Hence, it was ’normal’.”

Reading all this reminded me to check my site with the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and fix a few things.

Anyways, I strongly encourage subscribing to the excellent Sightless Scribbles blog. “The Colonization of Confidence.”
is another great post from him.
